Your upcoming North American tour starts on March 21st. What most excites you about touring?
I am most excited about creating a moment each night for people to connect to. I just love singing. I admit it’s hard for me to feel motivated to be in front of others as I’m self-conscious but each time I eventually get to that moment on stage to sing it’s like everyone connects to the same feeling I get to experience (the feeling that is the reason I love singing) and it’s like a window from the sky opens up and showers over all of us. Don’t know how to explain it, but I love that feeling and creating moments that can reach a deeper part of people.
What’s one piece of advice you wish you could tell your “younger” self now?
Just because someone disagrees with you doesn’t mean that it’s wrong, nor does it mean that you shouldn’t trust yourself.
Who is your life hero?
Family is easy to turn to because they are who you’re most around and strive to be there for you isn’t it? One of those for me is my mom. She has believed in me without making me feel like if I don’t reach a certain expectation in a disappointment. She gives me space because she feels she trusts me. She is a woman of faith and has always shown me to look up to God for answers. That has been the best guidance and lifesaver for me.

Next thing on your bucket list?
I’d love to go to Sweden to write. They have a unique writing style of pop music and I feel I’d learn a lot.
If you could record a duet with anyone, who would it be?
I’d love to duet with Tori Kelly or Jordin Sparks sometime.
