Iqbal Theba Biography
Iqbal Theba is a Pakistani-born American actor. He is widely known for playing the character Principal Figgins in the TV show Glee. He was also featured in The Green Book (2018) which is an Academy winning film.
Theba has appeared in numerous films and TV series over the course of his career in acting. As of 2019, he is set to be among the cast of a film called The Illegal, alongside Suraj Sharma and directed by Danish Renzu.

In 1981, Iqbal attended the University of Oklahoma for civil engineering. However, he dropped out to pursue an acting career in New York. He has a BS degree in Construction Engineering Management. In 1986, he went back to the University of Oklahoma to get a degree in acting and after attaining it, he moved to Los Angeles, California in 1991.

Theba began his acting career in the early 1990s and he quickly became a familiar face thanks to his numerous TV appearances on commercials and shows in the U.S.
He got his big break on the NBC pilot Death and Taxes though the pilot was not picked up. It led to him landing a recurring role on The George Carlin Show. He also had brief recurring roles on Married… with Children and ER. His other credits include appearances on Nip/Tuck, Alias, Two and a Half Men, Bosch, Roseanne, Kitchen Confidential, Chuck, JAG, Arrested Development, Childrens Hospital, The Tick, The West Wing, Friends, Sister Sister, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, King of the Hill, Weeds, Community, and Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
He appeared in an episode of the sitcom Yes, Dear alongside his Glee co-star Mike O’Malley. He also had a recurring role in ABC/CBS comedy sitcom Family Matters. From 2009 to 2010, Theba guest starred in two episodes of NBC’s Community – Introduction to Film and Basic Genealogy – as Gobi Nadir, the father of Abed Nadir (played by Danny Pudi). He also guest starred on CBS’s NCIS in 2012.
He was also seen on the 8th episode of the 8th Season of Hell’s Kitchen as he attended the 100th dinner service. In 2017, Theba voiced Slav in season 2 of Voltron: Legendary Defender.
