Jane Wyman Biography
Sarah Jane Mayfield was born, in St Joseph on January 5, 1917. She later died on 10th September 2007. First, She was an American singer, dancer, actress, and philanthropist. Her career traversed seven decades.
She was the first wife of actor Ronald Reagan. Additionally, he became the 40th President of the United States.
Jane Wyman Early Life
She was born Sarah Jane Mayfield on 5th January 1917, in St Joseph, Missouri. Her parents were Gladys Hope and
Manning Jeffries Mayfield. First, her father was a meal-company laborer. Additionally, her mother a doctor’s stenographer and office assistant. First, Wyman was the only child and had no biological siblings.
Consequently, some mistaken bios say she was the youngest of three siblings. This may be in addition to her foster parents’ children. Her parents got married in March 1916 in Jackson County, Missouri. Later in 1921 October, her mother filed for a divorce. Her father died at age 27 the next year. Her mum moved to Cleveland.

Wyman was then rared by her foster parents Emma and Richard Fulks(chief of detective, St.Joseph). At age 11, they moved to southern California with her foster mother. First, on April 8, 1933, in Los Angeles, California. Jane married Ernest Wyman a California based businessman. They divorced two years later.
Myron Futterman
Secondly, Wyman married Myron Martin Futterman New Orleans on June 29th, 1937. He was a dress manufacturer. Wyman wanted children but Futterman did not. In fact, they divorced on December 5, 1938. Only after three months of marriage.
Ronald Reagan
On January 26, 1940, in the Wee Kirk o’ the Heather Church, Glendale, California. She married her husband Ronald Reagan. Additionally, they had three children. Maureen Elizabeth Reagan, Michael Edward Reagan and Christine Reagan who died on the same day she was born. They had one adopted son Michael Edward Reagan. They divorced in 1949. The divorce was due to political differences. Ronald then became the 40th president of the USA. Additionally, despite their differences, she voted for him during the presidential elections in 1980 and 1984. Importantly, she was his first wife.
Frederick Karger
Lastly, on November 1, 1952, at El Montecito Presbyterian Church, Santa Barbara. She married a German-American Hollywood music director and composer, Frederick Karger.
on December 7, 1954; they were granted an interlocutory divorce decree. On March 11th, 1961 they remarried again. Furthermore, on March 9, 1965, Wyman got divorced again.
Karger saying that she walked out on him. Lastly, in 1953, she converted to Catholicism and became a member of the Good Shepherd Parish and the Catholic Motion Picture Guild in Beverly Hills, California. Wyman never remarried.
