These two albums produced five singles on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) charts; each album’s title track reached Top 40 on that chart.

Sellers was signed to BNA Records in 1997, releasing his debut single “I’m Your Man” this year. Also released from it were “That Does It” and “This Small Divide”, the latter a duet with Martina McBride.
A second album, A Matter of Time, produced his highest-charting single in its number 33-peaking title track. One day after the album’s release, he exited the label’s roster.

The track “That’s Not Her Picture” was later recorded by John Michael Montgomery on his 2000 album Brand New Me, while “Bad Case of Missing You” would later be recorded by The Oak Ridge Boys on their 2004 album The Journey, from which it was released as a single.
“Every Fire” was originally recorded by Shenandoah on its 1994 album In the Vicinity of the Heart. “Golden Ring” is a cover version of the George Jones and Tammy Wynette duet that went to Number One in 1976.
Critical reception
Philip van Vleck of Allmusic gave the album four-and-a-half stars out of five, saying “It’s the uptempo tracks that have made this project an effort that supersedes his first album in every aspect.”

Jason Sellers Named FOR Volunteer of the Year
Dr. Jason Sellers, assistant professor of history and American studies at the University of Mary Washington, is the 2018 Volunteer of the Year for Fredericksburg-based Friends of the Rappahannock (FOR).
For the past two years, Sellers has served as faculty adviser for Life Along the Rappahannock, a collaborative oral history project between FOR and UMW.
To date, Life Along the Rappahannock has completed six interviews and employed four UMW interns who logged hundreds of hours of service. Sellers supports FOR’s outreach events, interpretive trips, and buildings and grounds projects.
