Shada was born in Boise, Idaho United States. Soon after moving to Los Angeles with his family, He began acting at the age of 7 years. Shada was inspired to act by his older brother Zack Shada, who had begun to act himself earlier. He then initially appeared in commercials. Later on, Shada began auditioning for voice acting including theatrical performances, taking the advice from a voice over agent.

He played the first live-action theatrical role as Young Kurt Diamond in No Rules. Since then Shada has appeared in additional live action and voice acting roles, such as playing Charlie Pace in childhood flashbacks on Lost. In the year 2009, his agent approached him with the idea of auditioning for the role of Finn. Both recognized that his older brother Zack had been the original voice of Finn in the pilot episode of Adventure Time three years before.

After he viewed the pilot on YouTube, Shada matched his voice with the voice of his older brother Zack in auditions with Adventure Time creator Pendleton Ward and the show’s producers. This earned him the Finn role. In the year 2012, Shada joined the cast of Nick Cannon’s sketch-comedy series, Incredible Crew. In June the same year, to promote Incredible Crew’s 2013 premiere, The Cartoon Network released a music rap video titled “Running Errands with My Mom” featuring Shada performing and rapping the lyrics.

The video has since then generated over one million views. Because of his acting schedule, Shada was schooled from home. While answering fan questions on his Facebook page, he indicated that early in May 2013 he graduated from high school. On July 21 the following year, Shada announced that he is a member of Los Angeles-based pop punk band named Make Out Monday.
