She was raised in Austin, Texas and currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee. Nanci appeared many times on the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) music program since 1985.
Graduating with an education degree from University of Texas , she was a teacher at kindergarten and first grade in Austin during the 1970s alongside five-year Sunday Night spot at the Hole in The Wall.
She first learned how to play guitar one Saturday morning a Tv show hosted by Weber (PBS presenter) and later began writing her own song because she discovered it was easier than learning how to play those of other people.Her first professional performance was at Austin’s Red Lion Club on a thank giving holiday when she was 14.
In recent years, the singer has toured with the likes of John Prince, Iris DeMent, Suzy Boggus and Judy Collins. Griffith has recorded major collaborations with various artists.
